Rank: Prequel Chapter 1 The music flowed out from the hands of the artist, his fingers delicately caressing the strings. It flowed out over Hikari each note stroking her body. She gazed into the night. The mists had lifted and the stars shone like diamonds against a black velvet sky. Her gaze shifted to the shadows on the wall. The fire captured the Akhab at the threshold of his climax as he made love to the night, to the starts, to the realm. The sensuality of the moonless night took hold of her. Suddenly the music stopped. He knew that she was ready. He could feel her. Hikari rose from the circle. The ritual had begun. Eyes cast downwards, she moved silently to the centre of the circle, next to the fire. Her eyes moved to her shadow now a stark contrast against the wall. Gently strains of music flowed out from under the Akhab’s fingers. She turned her head towards him. Their eyes met. She felt the longing in her heart. Passion pulsed through her veins. Hikari raised and crossed her hands above her head, the fingertips of both hands merely touching. Her long black hair fell down the smooth curve of her back concealing her secret. She raised her head and at once the palms of her hands encircled each other then turned down and outwards. Her right hand turned upwards whilst her left hand moved in circles around her right wrist, both hands always skin to skin, moving to the rhythm of the music. The shadows on the wall seemed to be two bodies wrapped in a slow sensuous passion. The light of the fire played upon the intricate tattoos on her hand making the creatures seem alive. She stood still. Then gently her stomach began to undulate. Hikari continued to move her hands. Those around sat hypnotized by the movement of her naked belly. The music had changed to a violent, lustful rage. Suddenly her whole body seemed afire moving like a tormented river, her breasts becoming more prominent each time she elaborated her movement. Her eyes were full of emotion. They were full of desire. Her body moved towards the Akhab. He too was feeling the urgency of her body. No longer was he making love to the cosmos around but he was engaged in a passionate exchange with her, Hikari, Queen of the Enchanted Lands. Wildly her nubile frame excited pleasure from everything around. She threw her head back and slowly moved her hands over her face, caressing her lips, neck and then her breasts. Her fingers trailed down to her bare belly across her sex and onto her thighs. The cotton cloth that barely covered the upper and lower part of her body was thin and matched the colour of her tanned skin. It seemed that she was naked. A mixture of agony and desire was etched into her features. The music soared, more violent than before and turned several times. Hikari’s body followed effortlessly, the pleasure gripping her body and soul. The music tumulted and tumbled then trembled suddenly holding Hikari mesmerised. She moaned. Then it stopped. The music ceased and Hikari stopped dancing, her body still trembling from the climax. The Akhab rose. The onlookers held their breaths. But Hikari moved. Her breasts rose and fell as she inhaled deeply, drinking in the scents around her. It was done. She had paid homage to the gods. She had offered her body and soul, uniting the physical and spiritual elements in the Enchanted lands with that of the entire Shadow Realm and the human world as well. The portal should have been opened. Everyone stood silent as they waited for a sign. Suddenly, a light emanated from within the temple. It was the Sacred Stone. It had been activated. Help was on its way. Hikari bowed, her hair falling over her neck and almost touching the heated earth. The moon had appeared and it seemed to shine directly on her, its rays caressing her body, soothing the agony she felt within. The others gasped. The tattoo behind her neck became apparent. The moon traced the lines of the markings. It glowed. She adjusted her position and stood facing the Akhab. She bowed. “Everything is well”, he said. Hikari nodded. The circle parted and she walked past everyone and onto her abode.
Gwen woke up. N stood over her, a worried expression weighing on his features. “Gwen are you alright?” “I’m f..fine. I… what happened. Where am I?” “You are in the hospital. Sweetie, how do you feel, really?” “N, I feel fine. I…I had the weirdest dream.” “Shhhh honey, I think you should conserve your energy. We can talk about that later. A week ago, I woke up and you were next to me, bleeding. I brought you here…you needed medical attention.” “But…what is wrong with me?” “I’m going to get the doctor.” “But…” “But nothing Gwen. I’m going to tell Dr. Smith that you are finally awake.” Dawn diffused through the cracks in the walls. Hikari was already awake. Sleep had not shut sorrow’s eye for her. It had not released her from the physical world. It had not allowed her to enter the spirit world. She thought this strange as every night during the past week she had been haunted by the spirits of the realm. She shared a strange connection to these spirits, especially since one of them was her own. The face, the hair, so familiar, the pain was the same that Hikari felt in her soul but yet so different. The place, the time was different. She rose and stretched, extending even her fingertips until she curled them in and exhaled deeply with the pleasure of knowing that her entire body was at peace. It was her mind that was tormented. But why now, after she had performed the ritual. She was certain that the portal had been opened and that soon enough she would have the help that she needed to free her people. She was certain that the transportation cards would bring them directly to her. The dreams had stopped but there was still an unnerving pain gnawing at her soul. She sighed, got out of her bed and pulled her garments on to cover her nudity, lest someone should happen to walk in. “Hikari?” she jumped. It was Liamnaer, one of her elf guardians. “Hikari, you must come quickly. It is the Sacred Stone. Something has activated it.” She followed him out. A heavy silence resounded throughout the temple. They entered silently. There were no jewels, no painting, no people, nothing. The temple was simple. It was a place to find the inner self, not to be bothered with anyone or anything from the outside world. All came here to find peace. Liamnaer seemed rather timid, not wanting to disturb the cosmos. The temple had always unnerved him ever since the battle. He was sweating. With all of the emotional tumult within her, Hikari was calm. She had expected something like this to happen. They approached the Sacred Stone. The light brown surface had been transformed to a fiery red, the markings glowing and a light emanated from within. Hikari felt uneasy. She clutched her chest and breathed deeply. Hikari heard someone scream. It wasn’t a loud piercing scream, but rather a muffled cry. Suddenly the pain within her reawakened and burned through her veins. She felt faint. The Stone’s light was beginning to blind her. She felt intoxicated. The agony was clawing at her heart, ripping her apart from the inside. She staggered. “Hikari” The cries were getting louder and more desperate deafening Hikari. She covered her ears. “Hikari what is wrong with you?” Liamnaer cried. It was cruel. Hikari stumbled to the floor. She screamed in unison with the voice. Then, she fainted.
